What to Expect at Your First Visit

When you come in for your initial visit, our providers will review your health history and conduct a thorough evaluation. In addition to assessing your symptoms, our in-depth investigation includes things you might not associate with your condition. Our providers will also ask about your previous treatments and their results. The goal of your initial visit is to help us better understand what you are looking for so we can work towards that goal together.

If blood work is required during your visit, it is usually drawn in our office at the time of your appointment, which saves you from having to go elsewhere. If a pelvic sonogram is needed, these are scheduled in the office with an experienced ultrasonographer.

Rockville Gynecology uses eClinical WorksTM, an electronic medical record. This includes an encrypted, secure patient portal. Through the portal, you can send messages to your provider, request medication or refill, request an appointment, and view your laboratory results.

As a team, our mission is to promote women’s health and improve the quality of women’s lives. We aim to have short wait times, especially because we do not deliver babies, so our schedules are more predictable. During your brief wait, enjoy a cup of cappuccino, or tea in our state of the art office.

Adolescent First Visit

Are you here for your first gynecological visit? We are very happy to see you and put your mind at ease. Girls should have their first Gyn visit between 13-15 years of age.

This visit does not need to include a physical exam. A physical or pelvic exam can be performed if there are any current complaints or concerns. Many times it is an opportunity to get to know your provider and for the provider to get to know you!

We will discuss your family medical history, past medical history, and social history. This can be a time for discussion about healthy adolescent practices and prevention of illness.
