There are many administrative tasks that are essential to providing comprhensive care such as completing prior authorizations, insurance appeals, phone consultations, returning calls, and medication refills without an office visit, which are services that are not covered by insurance. Examples of tasks that often require significant time and resources:
- Prior Authorizations: 30–60 minutes of provider time per request.
- FMLA and Disability Forms: 15-30 minutes of nurse and provider time
- Insurance Appeals: Over an hour for each level of the appeals process.
- Phone Consultations, Lab/Test Result Reviews outside of appointments, and prescription management outside of appointments that is critical to ensuring continuity of care.
To offset these costs and maintain a seamless experience for our patients and families, we charge an annual $50 Non-Covered Services Fee per adult 18 years and older and $25 for adolescents under 18. This fee is a practice-wide policy and is not billable to insurance. Other practices often charge per individual service; however, Rockville Gynecology has chosen to consolidate these costs into a single annual fee to minimize the financial burden on families and ensure we can continue providing a seamless patient experience.
By joining our practice, you acknowledge and accept the Annual Non-Covered Services Fee of $50 for patients 18 years and older and $25 for patients under 18 years as a condition of receiving primary care services at Rockville Gynecology. The annual fee cycle covers services from July-June and will be assessed and charged to your credit card on file in the month of July. Please note, the Annual Non-Covered Services Fee is subject to change annually based on cost of living and continued changes in insurance coverage. Any changes to the annual fee will be disclosed via email and on the website prior to the assessment of this fee.
